We are pleased to present the FIRST ANNUAL MARLIN MASTERS
INVITATIONAL, April 8-12, 2008, at the first class fishing
destination Casa de Campo Resort and Marina in
the Dominican Republic. The MARLIN MASTERS is
a top notch angler and boat tournament of the exclusive Casa de Campo
Yacht Club (CCYC).
As of last year, the Dominican Republic has taken off as
a premier blue marlin hot spot, fishing the so called fads or local “balsas”. We plan on coordinating with the local fishermen or “pescadores de balsas”
so that all meat fish (no billfish are to be killed) are distributed to the
“pescadores” along with a dollar donation for
the fishing days lost throughout our tournament. This will help support the native fishermen
and their families.
All
proceeds above costs from this tournament will be donated to the Fundacion MIR
(Mission International Rescue), www.fundacionmir.org which
is a non-profit organization that has been working to supply the Dominican Republic’s
most marginalized people with a variety of life-altering services.
